Maryland has no course you can choose to take to dismiss a ticket or take points off. The Driver Improvement Program (4 to 8 hours) is assigned: by a District Court judge, by an administrative law judge, by the MVA when you reach 5 to 7 points in 2 years, or after a moving violation on a provisional license. The MVA says points are not removed on request. If a judge orders the program, the MVA sends a referral letter with the deadline and the list of providers.
