In North Dakota you can tell the court, when you post bond, that you will take a DOT-approved driver training course. If you send proof of completion to the department within 30 days, the points for that ticket (5 points or fewer) are never entered. The bond is still forfeited. You can do this once in 12 months, counted from the date of the ticket. Separately, a course mailed to the DOT takes 3 points off an existing total, up to 9 in three years; using the first option gives up that one.
