Idaho has no course that dismisses a ticket. After you pay the citation, an approved defensive driving class takes 3 points off your Idaho record, once every three years counted from the class completion date. The conviction stays. It cannot undo a points suspension already ordered, and you cannot bank the reduction before you have points. Only Idaho-licensed drivers get the credit. The same class may also earn an insurance discount.
